Front Porch

"Front Porch Oil Field View" Deeply layered with memories of my life as the wife of an oil field worker, this mixed media painting was a
long time in the making. (About 3 years.) Seeing and living the effects of the oil field that impacted my personal life and the environment spawned many nights working on this story told in paint. From the silky smooth back ground to the thick textured ocean, this painting was meant to be touched.
Created with many different mediums and finishes it provokes the feeling of a 3-d scene. A scene of my world, your world and the helplessness of watching through the curtains of time. Mixed media on stretched canvas. 48 x 36

Jennifer Googins

I am Jennifer Googins, resident and native to the MS Gulf coast. For more than 15 years I've used my artistic talents for canvas, decorative and mural painting, both for myself and clients. Although, I can't ever remember a time that I wasn't an artist in some form, starting with hidden crayon murals in my closet. Even as a small child I continually looked to experiment with new ways to express myself and thoughts, always choosing creative outlets. Because of my natural need to further and define my expression, I have become a self-taught artist of many different art mediums.

I share my unique, ever-evolving techniques with many Gulf Coast kids in Pass Christian, MS where I own/operate Abbey Road Art Club-for kids. Offering group classes, private lessons, holiday art camps & scholarships, I hope to help fill the "art void" in our kids left by many school budget cuts. The children are exposed to art mediums from painting & pastels to sculpting & crafts, so they can find the medium that best fits their creative style. I believe art is not an elective, it's a necessity in teaching children to experiment with positive ways to express themselves while envoking self-esteem.

Because I believe we all need a little art in our life. I have recently began acrylic painting classes at my club for adults, for begining artists starting in September and am the founder of "Color on the Rocks"-A social event for artistic learning, benefiting Abbey Road Art Club. See my portolio for more details. Thanks so much for reading. I hope you are inspired to spread a lil "peace" through art today, Be sure to visit my gallery and my online portfolio.
