In Buddhism the lotus flower symbolizes faithfulness. The golden lotus mentioned in Buddhist sutras has two meanings: the symbol for the achievement of enlightenment, and a real flower which is beyond normal perception.
Windmills, clogs, cheese – these images come to mind when thinking of the Netherlands. But probably the most ultimate image of the country is the tulip – the Netherlands’ most famous flower
For ages tulips have been a huge part of the Dutch culture. In the Netherlands tulips are presented for any occasion, often complete with their own mythology and hidden meaning, depending on flower type and color.
Their delightful blooms and vibrant colors are a great source of inspiration for my art. I am a passionate gardener, I have planted many colors and species of flowers in my garden to ensure I have a never-ending source of inspiration. My work is featured on a series of stationery products and greeting cards.

I am a Designer / Photographer who enjoys taking on an array of project types. I have also a degree in Fine Arts. I welcome any challenge that provoke my creative thought.
Photography fills a creative void for me. I have explored all kinds of creative arts over the years, but still they don’t quite touch that part of me that wants to ‘draw’ the real world as I see it around me.I don’t just go out looking for pretty pictures – I search for patterns that repeat, for flowing movement, for undercurrents that subtly define a subject. I look for shadows and reflections, and contrasts, and interesting juxtapositions. Even in faces I look for the defining angle, the personality revealed, that glimmer of life looking back at me through my viewfinder. Photography for me, therefore, is just another way of being in the world!.
