On the Pond:
I love waterlilies, and when I saw this lily at a local fruit farm, I took a photo if it and it has become the inspiration for this painting. I love all the dimensions and reflections these flowers have. This is an 11X15 watercolor done on fine artist quality Arches Paper.
The Blue Vase:
My all-time favorite flower is the iris. I have loved them all my life, and my garden is filled with these wonderful blooms every spring. Also, my favorite color is blue so this painting combines both of those passions. This 11X15 and done on Arches fine art paper.
I am retired watercolorist from So. California. I grew up loving all forms of art and took art all through high school. I come from a large background of artists. My mom was very good at china painting and I have an aunt who worked for Hallmark Cards for years. I started doing watercolor 10 years ago and have been in love with the medium and is transparency ever since. The joy I get from watching the paint do it's thing is so enjoyable to watch.
